About the Author

I love exploring what it means to be good in worlds where darkness is the norm. Growing up on fantasy, it was less a question about if I would write, and more one of when. From the moment I got obsessed with R.A. Salvatore's Dark Elf Trilogy, I knew I needed to create and explore the same kind of fantasy worlds.

It's been a couple decades since I first picked up those books, but the dream of writing never left. Now I use that dream to explore the way darkness and light interact, and what we're willing to pay to do what's right.

My debut novel, Archangel, was my first foray into published writing, and I've since published four more novels with who-knows-how-many first drafts waiting to join them. Among those were three co-authored books in The CERBERUS Paranormal Detective urban fantasy series, all of which ranked as #1 new releases and one as a #1 bestseller.

Now I am exploring more in the Shadow's Advent series, more dark and urban fantasy, and even have some horror novels coming your way.

I live in Ontario, Canada with the world's most supportive partner as my wife and our rescue dog, Nora, where we go on plenty of adventures to distract me from writing. I love running Dungeons & Dragons games, have a board game collection that should probably have its own insurance policy, and like to scare my socks off with horror movies (so many A24 horrors haunt me).

During my 9-5, I help other authors develop their craft by creating resources, hosting workshops, and running events for writers. In addition to publishing more, I hope to transition to one-on-one author coaching so I can help others achieve their writing goals.

Oh, and a big part of my personality is coffee. Just coffee (and sometimes espresso with steamed milk).
